Some bands form in garages, others in studios. Milly Joel was born in an Irish bar. When two solo artists were accidentally double-booked for the same gig, instead of deciding who would play and who would go home, they shared the stage. From that night on, they’ve been playing together ever since.
Milly Joel is a Melbourne based folk-pop duo that thrives on live performance, rich harmonies, and high energy acoustic instrumentation. Natural, unpolished, and deeply rooted in the energy of a real performance.
Gigging six nights a week, often playing up to three a day, Milly Joel has become a staple in Melbourne’s St. Kilda Irish community, drawing in dedicated audiences who come to bars specifically for them. Between their relentless gig schedule, they are writing and recording as much as possible, with the goal of releasing an album by the end of the year. This project sees them dropping a new release every month, translating the same energy that fuels their live shows into a growing catalogue.
Individually, the duo has built impressive careers. One member (Joel) has performed on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, while the other (Jack) has toured across multiple countries and states. Together, they’ve created something that stands out: a duo that isn’t just making music, but living it, every waking moment.
